New to The Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online Division,
the Game Art & Design Program arrives just
in time for a boom in the video game field. With constantly advancing
iterations of popular video games scheduled for the next several
years, qualified designers will be more in demand than ever. With
an emphasis on aesthetics instead of programming, this unique
program is your first step toward becoming an artist and designer
in the multi-billion dollar game design industry.
Students will develop their basic art and
design skills and learn how to design game play and background,
create characters and their environments, and apply familiarity
of video and computer games to analysis of game usability. Students
will also learn to plan the game environment and determine choices
for characters.
Graduation from the Game Art & Design program will provide
students with the skills requisite to entry-level positions in
the game industry, including 2D conceptual artist, 3D character
builder, 3D object modeler, interactivity designer, game-play
tester, background artist and more.
